Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative assistant designer to join our team providing exhibitions, gallery development and refurbishment for 12 Museums, Country Houses and Historic Sites in Lancashire. You will be required to Design and implement exhibitions and to also have the ability to design 2 dimensional material. You will be qualified in a design subject and have museum design experience as well as a thorough knowledge of museum design techniques including experience in the use of â?~creative suiteâ?T software (In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop). You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a flexible attitude to work and an understanding of current agendas in the museum world. The post is based in Preston at Lancashire County Museum Headquarters in our newly created design facility. We offer flexible working hours and membership of the local Government pension scheme.

Essential Qualifications
Degree HND or equivalent in a two or three dimensional design related discipline.

Essential Experience
Experience, familiarity, knowledge and practical use of computer aided design packages (in-Design, Quark express, Photoshop, Adobe illustrator including Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience
Experience in museum related design and interpretation.
